Don't Go To Church

Pastor Chris is back! Sharing insights gained from his recent sabbatical, Chris begins a conversation that will continue to form over the coming months around the identity of the Church. If the Body of Christ is truly to be God’s primary instrument of hope for the world, it will because we are not passive observers, but are actively rooted and bearing fruit as we seek instead to be the Church.

Reflection & Practice

Chris asked us to consider the Parable of the Sower. When you think about the seed that God is working to sow in your life, where do you see that seed falling? Is it along a rocky path, or in shallow soil, or among thorns, or are you providing God a yielding, soft, and fertile soil in which to plant? If it’s the former, take some time to consider the many things that may be contributing factors, and then perhaps share your wrestling with a close friend.

Until we are together again next weekend, what are some opportunities that you will have to be the Church within the natural rhythms of the days between?

Please join us in continuing to pray for the Capes family in their time of loss, especially young Toby. We will gather for a remembrance of Daniel’s life next Saturday, August 10th at 11am @ 1100 Elder St.
