Invaluable

Pastor Chris Seay (with assists from Schindler’s List and Dr. Maya Angelou) asked us to consider what a life is worth. When we truly see ourselves as God has declared us to be, the way we care for our bodies, the ways we work and give, and the ways we are called to remind others of their importance to this world are all radically changed.

Reflection & Practice

Chris invites us to consider the vital rhythms of sabbath and self-care. What stands in the way of your ability to truly sabbath well? What priorities may need to shift in order to make that happen? How might the ability to pause, rest, and breathe affect the energy you carry into the rest of your week?

“Do you know how important you are?” is the question posed by Maya Angelou in breaking up a heated dispute. Will you commit to pray for God to grant you the opportunity to extend a similar blessing as you go about your week? If we are a community actively looking for opportunities to speak blessing into the lives of the distraught and distressed amongst us, countless friends and strangers in our city would be met by the simple reminder of God’s love, and the affirmation of our inherent and abundant worth.
