Pastor Josh Hilburn invited us to consider our lives as united with that of Jesus, and to ask ourselves where we have sought meaning elsewhere. As we focus not on pleasure or power, but on relationships, spiritual health, and participation in God's mission of reconciliation, we discover our true purpose and impact in the world.
Text
1 Corinthians 1: 2-7
Reflection
In what ways might you be "settling" for less, seeking meaning in the wrong places? As you seek eternal impact, what relationships in your life need more attention?
Josh suggested that it's not enough to simply "be kind" and expect for others to be drawn to Jesus, but that we're called to truly speak out as guides to the world. When you think about speaking up about God, how does sound? Do you cringe? Do you remember a bad experience? Where might you have an opportunity in your life to speak of your relationship to God with greater boldness?
