Welcome to Ecclesia
We’re a Christian community rooted in Houston, learning together what it means to follow Jesus, love our neighbors, and seek God in the midst of ordinary life. We know visiting a church for the first time can come with plenty of questions. What will it be like? Where do I go? Will I feel out of place? We hope to make that first step a little easier by giveing you a sense of what to expect, and helping you feel a little more at home before you ever walk through the doors.
Houston’s Holistic Missional Christian Community
We believe following Jesus is about more than what happens on Sunday. It shapes the way we live, the way we care for one another, and the way we participate in the life of our city and the world around us.
Ecclesia is a community of people learning to do that together. We gather to worship, ask questions, grow in our faith, and become more like Jesus, then carry that life with us into our homes, neighborhoods, workplaces, and relationships. We believe the Church exists not simply for itself, but for the good of the world God loves.

Sunday Gatherings are one of the simplest ways to experience Ecclesia. Come worship with us, meet some people, and get a feel for the community. There’s no need to register or let us know you’re coming.

Our downtown campus is located in the heart of the city of Houston. Each week, Houstonians from all across the Greater Houston area join us to worship, serve, and live in community.
Our central location allows this campus to serve as a gathering point at Paper Co. Cafe, our cafe open 7 days a week, as well as serve our unhoused neighbors through meals, relationships and housing assistance.

Our West Side campus is located in the neighborhood of Piney Point on the west side of Houston.
This campus is covered in trees and is a peaceful gathering spot for our community each week. If you live near the west side of Houston, we invite you to join us here!
Sundays at Ecclesia
If you’ve never been to Ecclesia, there’s nothing you need to know or prepare before joining us. Our Sunday Gatherings include music, prayer, Scripture, teaching, communion, and time simply together.
Ecclesia is a multi-denominational community, which means you’ll find people shaped by many different church traditions alongside people who are exploring faith for the first time, returning after years away, or still figuring out what they believe. You’re welcome to participate, ask questions, or simply take it all in.
That diversity extends well beyond our experiences of faith. On any given Sunday, people from different generations, cultures, races, neighborhoods, professions, economic circumstances, perspectives, and life experiences gather in the same room. We don’t expect everyone at Ecclesia to look alike, think alike, or share the same story. We believe there is beauty when we gather across those differences, and that our community is stronger because of them.
You’ll see a wide range of what people choose to wear on Sundays, so there’s no need to dress a certain way for your first visit. More than anything, we hope you find space to encounter God, get to know some people, and experience the community for yourself.

What Happens at Gatherings?
Scripture + Teaching
Each week, we spend time in Scripture and explore how the way of Jesus shapes our lives and the world around us.
Communion
We share communion every Sunday, gathering around the table to remember Jesus life, death, and resurrection.
Participation
There are no expectations for your participation. Join in when and where you’re comfortable, or simply take everything in.
Music + Prayer
We worship together through music and prayer, making space to sing, reflect, listen, and seek God together.
KIDS AND STUDENTS
A Place for Your Entire Family
We care deeply about creating spaces where children and students feel safe, known, loved, and free to be themselves.
On Sundays, our kids experience Scripture through story, creativity, play, and relationships with caring adults. And because we believe spiritual formation happens in families as well as age-specific spaces, elementary kids and students begin the Gathering in worship with the larger community before being released to their own spaces.
If it’s your first Sunday, arrive a few minutes early and we’ll help your family get checked in and show you where to go. You’re always welcome to walk with your children to their spaces and ask any questions along the way.
WHO WE ARE
We believe faith is something we practice together, not simply something we believe. At Ecclesia, six simple rhythms give us a shared language for the kind of people we hope to become as we follow Jesus together.

These rhythms invite us to pay attention to God in ordinary life, to be honest about who we are, to make room for one another, to notice and create beauty, and to live generously for the good of our neighbors and our city.
We won’t always get it right. But together, we’re learning to practice these things with curiosity, humility, and hope.
