Ecclesia Houston

Downtown Campus Pastor

A role rooted in presence, formation, and shared life at the heart of our city

For 26 years, Ecclesia has been rooted in the heart of Houston, a diverse, multicultural, multigenerational community seeking to embody the way of Jesus in our ordinary, daily life together. Our Downtown campus reflects the full beauty and complexity of the city: artists and entrepreneurs, families and students, neighbors experiencing homelessness, longtime members and curious newcomers. All are finding space at the same table.

We are now seeking a Campus Pastor to guide this community with humility, depth, and grounded hope. We are looking for someone who loves people, values diverse communities, and is drawn to the kind of ministry that holds worship, formation, and compassionate presence together.

About Ecclesia Downtown

Our Downtown campus is a living mosaic of the city. On any given week you might find:

  • A multiethnic worship gathering anchored in prayer, story, and communion

  • Neighbors experiencing homelessness welcomed with dignity through showers, meals, and relationships

  • Children and students discovering belonging through creative, safe, joyful spaces

  • Artists and professionals working from Paper Co., our missional coffee shop

  • Households seeking spiritual rhythms for the week ahead

  • People at every stage of faith, from curious to deeply rooted, learning to walk together.

About the Role:

This role sits at the intersection of pastoral presence, spiritual formation, collaborative leadership, and community engagement. It invites someone who takes initiative, listens deeply, and loves weaving people together for the good of the community.

The Downtown Campus Pastor will:

  • Shepherd a diverse congregation with warmth, wisdom, discernment, and steady presence

  • Lead and develop staff, lay leaders, and volunteers in a collaborative, empowering way

  • Work closely with central teams (Formation, Gatherings, Family Ministry, Outreach)

  • Champion hospitality, justice, and belonging through local partnerships and neighborhood engagement

  • Help steward Paper Co. as a place of connection, listening, and mission

  • Serve visibly in Sunday gatherings through welcome, prayer, communion, and invitations

  • Hold together worship, discipleship, justice, and hospitality in a way that feels integrated and whole

We are seeking someone who is spiritually formed, emotionally mature, and thrives in shared leadership. Someone who can nurture community across cultures, generations, and stories.

Strategy for 2026
