Our family ministry is dedicated to ministering to families as a whole — both children and parents alike. We work together to provide a space where all families are seen, known, and loved.

Summary of Role
The Kids Ministry volunteer helps create a safe, welcoming space where children encounter Jesus through story, play, and care. This role supports storytime, engages kids in activities, and offers comfort when needed—sharing leadership so every child feels seen, loved, and included.
Key Responsibilities
Help create an environment where kids feel seen, known, and loved.
Help with the spiritual formation of the kids in our ministry through storytelling, songs, and play.
Contribute to a shared and sustained ministry through collaboration with other volunteers and staff.

Rooted in our mission as a Christian community to live as the church, the First Impressions Leader helps ensure that every family who walks through our doors encounters the warmth, attentiveness, and love of Jesus. This role embodies our hope that families feel seen, known, and loved from their very first moment with us. This leader shapes the culture of hospitality by equipping greeters and hosts to notice people, anticipate needs, and create calm, joyful first experiences for families and children.

Lead and support greeters, hosts, and kids-space leads
Cast vision for why hospitality is spiritual work
Ensure consistent, safe, and welcoming environments for families
Serve under the guidance of the Children’s Ministry Director or Coordinator

This leader reflects the heart of Jesus by walking closely with expecting families, those welcoming new babies, and those who are simply new to Ecclesia—helping our community respond with tangible love, presence, and connection during sacred life moments. Rather than personally managing every need, this leader equips and coordinates others to provide care—ensuring no family walks alone and that love is expressed through practical support and relational connection.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee follow-up with expecting and new families
Facilitate meal trains and care coordination - oversee the Planning Center Meal Train group
Equip volunteers to offer presence, prayer, and encouragement
Serve under the guidance of the Children’s Ministry Director or Coordinator

This leader ensures that those who serve are also spiritually nourished. Rooted in the belief that Christian spiritual formation matters as much as function, this role helps our team stay grounded in Jesus as we care for others. By facilitating communion, prayer, and moments of reflection, this leader creates space for volunteers to encounter God together—shaping a community that serves from overflow, not obligation.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and support communion on Sundays for volunteers
Create rhythms of prayer and encouragement for volunteers
Support the spiritual health of leaders and teams
Serve under the guidance of the Children’s Ministry Director or Coordinator
Frequency
At least 2 Sundays per month

This leader helps our community celebrate life together—marking milestones that help children, families, and volunteers feel seen and honored within the body of Christ. By empowering teams to plan and lead events, this role ensures celebrations are relational, not programmatic—reflecting our desire to nurture connection and joy.

Oversee family-focused events and gatherings
Coordinate milestone celebrations (graduation Sundays, transitions)
Equip volunteers to lead event teams
Serve under the guidance of the Children’s Ministry Director or Coordinator
Frequency
Regular involvement in planning meetings (as needed), presence at key family events and milestone celebrations (several times per season/year), availability to coordinate and communicate with team members and families leading up to events, flexibility for occasional weekend or evening commitments tied to event schedules.
