Don't Read The Comments

Pastor Sean Palmer asks us to consider what both the Apostle Paul and Taylor Swift might teach us about living in a culture shaped by judgement. Whether the venom of words, or a viper dangling from our hand, part of growing in the confidence and maturity of our journey with God is learning how to… shake it off.

Text

Acts 28: 1-6

Don't Take Anything Personally. Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won't be the victim of needless suffering. - Don Miguel Ruiz

Prayer of Bishop Nikolai Velimirovich

Reflection & Practice

How do you handle criticism? How was that modeled in your family of origin? Are you being faced with any at this very moment? As a suggested practice, what might it look like to begin your day with the simple affirmation that you are seen, known, and loved, just as you are, and that whether met with disdain or praise through the day that follows, nothing will change that. If you have a proverbial “viper'“ attached to you, will you allow yourself to take a breath and then gently and calmly remove its hold?
