Weathering The Storm

Dan Allender.jpg

Weathering The Storm

Navigating Trauma in Community

One year ago, Hurricane Harvey met our region with unprecedented devastation, and trauma that for many still continues. The losses have been incalculable. However, we also have witnessed the resilience and compassion of our communities; the commitment to care for one another, to provide, and to rebuild all that has been lost.

We know that this won’t be the last storm; literally or figuratively. Just as we have cared for one another in the midst of this assault from Mother Nature, how will we care for one another through the other storms that will inevitably arrive?

Our friends, Dr. Dan Allender and Pastor Rachael Anne Clinton of The Allender Center at The Seattle School in Seattle, WA, will be offering a teaching and dialogue for all of those called into roles of care and leadership. We invite you to join us on Saturday, October 13th from 9am - 3pm (including an hour lunch-break). This event is an open invitation for you, your personal care networks, and your communities to gather with us. Dan and Rachael will offer vital language around the nature and ongoing effects of trauma, and our invitation into hope, transformation, and healing. Especially for those individuals and families directly affected by the storm, we believe that this content will be deeply beneficial and restorative.

Debt Free Dance Party

Let’s Party!!!!

Join us for a party in celebration of Ecclesia being debt-free on our Elder campus. There will be live music (The Fab Five!), great bites, and terrific company. We’ll also be raising funds to bless our friends at Big Brothers Big Sisters to help them pay off their own building debt.

God continues to bless the life of our Ecclesia family, and all that happens at our downtown campus. After 6 years since our move from Taft Street, we are officially mortgage free! This means that your tithes and offerings will be doing even more to impact those in need in Houston, and around the world. We would not have reached this goal without the help of your prayers and generosity, and we want to celebrate this important milestone with a rocking dance party!
